Consultation on Decent Homes Standard – rented homes. Closes 10th September.

A reformed Decent Homes Standard will establish the minimum housing standards that tenants in both social and private rented sectors can expect from their landlords.

The consultation aims to update the Decent Homes Standard which currently applies to social housing. The new standard will also apply to privately rented housing. Every tenant deserves a home that is safe, warm, and decent. The reformed Decent Homes Standard will set out clearly what tenants should expect from their landlords and when it will be implemented.

Feedback is welcome from all interested parties on our proposals, in particular tenants, registered providers of social housing, landlords of private rented homes, leaseholders, common holders, providers and people living in supported housing or temporary accommodation, and industry bodies.
