Christmas came early this year for Rugby-based residents of The Willow Tree Nursing Home, as well as residents from Clifton upon Dunsmore and Woodville Nursing Homes! WRCC Back&4th transported a group of them to Princethorpe College’s annual Senior Citizens Christmas Lunch on 14 December and back home again in two of our community minibuses.

All the group thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas trip. They were looked after by caring WRCC Back&4th community transport volunteers who ensured they had a comfortable and safe journey, and also by friendly Sixth Formers at Princethorpe College who served them a delicious traditional cooked lunch. Children from Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School and members of the Sixth Form sang beautifully during the meal, and everyone joined in with a host of Christmas carols.

Dawn Hulley, a manager at The Willow Tree Nursing Home, said: “This is our first time using WRCC for this event.  They were prompt, cheerful and helped with our residents on and off the minibus.  They made us feel safe and were very friendly – we’ll definitely use them again and I would highly recommend them to other care homes. A big thank you from all of us!”

Paul Hinks, WRCC Back&4th Manager (Rugby) said: “This is what WRCC Back&4th is all about – helping members of our community who wouldn’t otherwise be able to get out and giving them some independence as well as happy memories!”
