Stratford-on-Avon District Proposed Submission Site Allocations Plan

Regulation 19, 20 and 35 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012

The District Council has approved its Site Allocations Plan for submission to the Secretary of State for independent examination.

As well as a number of specific proposals, the Site Allocations Plan identifies Reserve Housing Sites, sites for Self-Build and Custom-Build Housing and Built-Up Area Boundaries for a range of settlements. The Plan sits alongside the Core Strategy and once adopted will form part of the Development Plan for Stratford-on-Avon District.

In accordance with the Regulations, before the Plan is submitted there will be a six week period for making representations on the legal compliance and soundness of the Plan.

This period of consultation will commence on Thursday 8th August and end at 5pm on Friday 20th September 2019.

Representations received will be submitted to the Secretary of State with the Site Allocations Plan and related documents. The Secretary of State will appoint an Inspector to hold a Public Examination of the Plan and consider the representations made.

Anyone making representations should bear in mind that the Examination will only consider whether the procedures for preparing the Site Allocations Plan have been properly followed and whether it satisfies the ‘tests of soundness’ specified in the Regulations.

For this reason you are strongly recommended by the Planning Inspectorate to submit your representations on the prescribed form. This will assist all parties involved in the Examination process, in particular the Inspector, to understand what case you are making and, where applicable, how you wish the Plan to be modified.

Your representations can be submitted online via the District Council’s website: www.stratford.gov.uk/siteallocations or by downloading a form and emailing it to policy.consultations@stratford-dc.gov.uk

Alternatively, forms can be posted to the Planning Policy Team, Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6HX.

Where there are large numbers of people who share a common position on the Site Allocations Plan, it would be very helpful to all parties, including the Inspector, if that group submitted a single representation, appending the names, addresses and email addresses of those represented. If requested, all the individuals listed will be notified of future stages in the process.

The proposed submission documents include the Site Allocations Plan, Sustainability Appraisal, Statement of Consultation, Duty to Co-operate Statement, Statement of Representations Procedure, Representations Form (and Guidance Note) and the Equalities Impact Assessment.

 

During the consultation period the proposed submission documents will be available for viewing and inspection:

  • On the Council’s website at www.stratford.gov.uk/siteallocations
  • At Stratford-on-Avon District Council offices, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6HX between 8:45am and 5:15pm Mondays to Wednesdays and between 8:45am and 5:00pm Thursdays and Fridays

Copies of documents can be purchased from the Council on request.
